Newborn E-Guide

Hi everyone! After almost 5 years I’ve finally released something pretty amazing- beyond beautiful client images of course!!:)I started working on this guide in the summer of 2012 but didn’t get a whole lot done because naturally, business and life got in the way. I continued to feverishly scribble in my notebook and edit and re-edit my notes but the actual meat and potatoes I just couldn’t find time for. This past summer of 2013 when I got heavy into my traveling workshops I started working on it again more seriously. I spent a lot of time on airplanes and in hotel rooms pouring my heart into this guide. For those that have already worked with me one-on-one or in a workshop, the guide will be included as a thank you and follow up item, for free. For those that are attending future workshops or working with me one-on-one, they will receive it as well for free. If you are already mentoring other photographers in newborns, sadly I won’t be able to send you the guide.

The Amy Cook Photography Newborn E-guide has been crafted to be all inclusive. It is not only written out like a book that you can pick up and read during a hot bath or snuggled up by the fire, but it is a reference manual. You can jump to specific sections and utilize the information you need, or you can read it start to finish and absorb that way. You can refer back to a section during a session break or before your model arrives to refresh your memory on something in particular. It includes photo and videos of poses and different processes. I have crafted this guide to as closely represent being at a workshop with me as possible.

A list of what is covered is as follows, but not limited to:

The initial contact and booking process with the client

Scheduling the newborn upon arrival and what information I give my parents to fully prepare them and their new child for the session.

How prepare my studio as well as the way I set it up

What you probably want to know the most – the posing process!- we will cover beanbag shots, prop shots, and others.

Workflow order as well as a step-by-step posing guide including photos and videos

Soothing tricks

Posing with parents and siblings

Postprocessing using Photoshop

Lighting- natural. The studio lighting section will be added at a later date.

Newborn safety and basic anatomy

and MORE. As the guide is periodically updated, you will be notified by email to download the new version- FREE.

The guide is (currently!) 154 pages and covers 18 poses with tons of images (not just of the final poses, but step by step behind the scenes goodness!) and 28 videos. It is in downloadable PDF format. Please note that videos are FLASH and will not play on certain mobile devices.

Price: $399.

Thank you so much for your continued support and I am so excited to share this baby of mine with you! If you have any questions on the guide before or after purchasing, please email An FAQ document is included in your download, so refer to that first, but don’t hesitate to contact me if the FAQ’s don’t answer your question. Thanks!!:)

Julie Arnold - I am a professional graphic designer. I see that some paragraphs are center aligned. It would make it harder to read for your customers, always choose left aligned when you have large blocks of text. I would love to help you format and pretty up your book. Please let me know if you would like to chat. Thanks! :$

So sad I missed the pre order. Although I’m thinking the 400 will be worth it.
Any chance you might do one more day of pre orders

Kim Davis - Wish I wouldn’t have missed the pre order either. With us crazy Southerners not use to this icy weather I had my mind on other things. But $400 I just can’t do:/
Looks like a lot of precious time went into it. Great job!
